5Essentials Survey is NOW OPEN for Parents, Students + Teachers

We are looking for feedback from our D20 Parents, Students and Teachers to help organize schools for improvement.

The Illinois State Board of Education's Annual 5Essentials Survey is an evidence-based system designed to drive improvement in schools nationwide.  It reliably measures changes in a school through a 5Essentials survey taken by parents, students (grades 4-12), and teachers (grades PreK-12) and provides individualized, actionable reports based on five essential areas critical for school improvement: (1) effective leaders, (2) collaborative teachers, (3) involved families, (4) supportive environment, and (5) ambitious instruction.

D20 Student Ignite Awards

The District 20 Board of Education was proud to award Student Ignite Awards to 15 deserving students at the November 21, 2019 meeting.  This award is given to students who have gone above and beyond in the classroom, exhibit excellent social emitional behavior at school, and/or participate and excell in co-curricular and athletic programs demonstrating hard work, perseverence, good sportsmanship, kindness, and willingness to help others.

Bernie's Books Come to D20 Schools!

The District partnered with Bernie's Books to provide a bag filled with age-appropriate books for each and every student in grades Preschool through 6th Grade.  The hope is that the students will continue to grow their love of reading, as well as their home libraries as they will receive new books twice a year through this program.

Visit the District Photo Galleries to see a photo gallery of the students in D20 enjoying their new books!

Parent Education Day - Make + Take Projects

ECC hosted the second Parent Education Day today, encouraging parents to attend different Make-and-Take sessions with their child.  Teachers walked them through different activities and each family went home with their student's projects.  Families also took home a packet of ideas for fun and easy activities to do at home over break.  It was wonderful to see so many of our ECC families in attendance!

Happy Thanksgiving!

ECC had a Thanksgiving Feast at school, giving the students an opportunity to help make food in their classrooms and sit down with other classes to enjoy the meal.  We love giving our students a chance to all be together as a preschool family to work on socialization, turn-taking, motor skills, and speech & loanguage in a fun way!  We hope that your family has a wonderful holiday together as well!
